MY EXPERIENCE!!!
It was my summer vacations and I decided to visit Mumbai . I decided to go solo driving all the way from Ahmedabad to Mumbai. I woke up early in the morning and started my trip. It was a long drive. Finally at night I reached Mumbai and stayed the night in the hotel.
Next morning I woke up and decided to go visit some places in Mumbai. On my way suddenly my car stopped in the middle of the street I tried to start it but it was not starting. I started panicking as people behind me were continuously honking and shouting on me. And then some people came and helped me. I asked them if i could get a mechanic and one of them answered that there was a mechanic across the street. I went to that mechanic and asked him if he could help me fix that problem. He checked the car and told me that it would take him 3 to 4 hours to fix it. I paid him and I thought of roaming there.
As I was walking down the street their was an area full of garbage,foul smell and a lot more. I was walking along small lanes between people’s houses whilst they stare up at me and I feel awkward making eye contact back because I was walking through their home, staring. The smell of sewage and urine was horrible. The fear of stepping in sewage and urine if I misplace my feet but the awkwardness of trying not to care as these are people’s home.
I saw a big crowd of people pushing each other and fighting. I wonder what it is and people were literally fighting for water. Everyone was pushing each other to fill water in their buckets.People were getting hurt but they didn't care they just cared about filling their buckets with water. One beautiful thing I saw in that whole crowd was when everyone was fighting to fill their buckets their were few kids who were playing without caring what was happening around them.
Then I saw the house they were so small they were like a small room where almost 8 to 9 people living in that small house.There were so many houses in a row. They were very small. The condition of the houses was very bad.
Their was garbage lying all around. We could see dumps of garbage everywhere. The dumped waste produces foul odor and at the same time becomes breeding ground for flies and mosquitoes which carry several diseases with them. Children were playing around that garbage which can make them sick.
It was almost 3 hours and I wanted to use the washroom I found a washroom when I saw it the condition was so so so bad we cant even imagine that bad. The condition of the washroom was pathetic. The smell was so bad then also i had to use washroom so I went inside and I saw that there were doors but their was no latches.Any how I used the washroom and came out. I almost threw up inside the washroom.
I decided it go back on my way back to the mechanics shop I saw a board saying public park.But when I saw it was a piece of barren land filled with garbage and water everywhere. Due to this kids play around that garbage and get sick. The condition of the park was disgusting. Where are the kids suppose to play?? I felt so bad after seeing that.
I bought a lot of chocolates and gave to all the kids playing around me and got so happy and excited and I felt so good. All the kids got so happy and seeing their happy face made me so much happy.After seeing those kids I realized one thing those kids live in so bad condition but then also they were happy and enjoying their life.
